Battle between Subaru and its enthusiasts

"

Amazing how far car manufacturer will go to prevent its cars from so-called debadging. On various models there are different approaches Subaru tries to prevent people from debadging. On my previous car they had an nice Subaru logo on trunk lid in a place where I believed it was ugly. When you removed it, there appeared two holes behind it. This time it was a different fight.

Today I got tired programming and decided to take a break. I decided to debadge front grille. Rear was done a week ago.

So I got a couple of different screwdrivers and went outside. In about five minutes I learnt that it wasn't going to be as easy as I thought. I learnt that front grille badge is mounted on the grille with two screws. It takes one minute to remove screwed and get rid of the badge. However (!) there is a solid plastic wall right behind the badge. So obviously there is no way to squeeze a screw driver behind to unscrew it. Few swear words and few minutes passed I went upstairs to grab a drille. Yeap, I drilled holes in a plastic wall that protected two screws holding grille badge. Then I could squeeze screw driver through the holes to unscrew the badge. That wall serve absolutely no purpose, in my opinion, but to protect Subaru logo. Subaru of course may claim that the wall is a structural component of the grile. But obviously it could have been done in a manner that it doesn't prevent those two screws from being unscrewed. Either way, I am not upset at Subaru or anything.

All in all, this fight was won by me this time. Pics to come in a couple of days.
