Fabo, ykwim?

I have always hated excess of abbreviations. I realise that there are some that have stuck to every day language that people don't even know it's not a correct word. But some people are trying to save time by inventing their own words or overusing uncommon abbreviations. In the end, they waste the time of theirs and the person they're speaking to.

Here is a perfect example of my friend using the word I had never heard before:

Rob: hello
f1vlad: howdy
Rob: sorry I could not make the gym
f1vlad: it's ok
Rob: fabo
f1vlad: horosho
Rob: ?
f1vlad: I've respondd to your statement: (Rob] fabo)
Rob: fabo = fabulous
f1vlad: good to know
f1vlad: horosho = good
f1vlad: in Russian
f1vlad: whenyou speak English I will too :)
f1vlad: if not I'll speak Russian
Rob: hah
