Though somewhat erroneously titled as the Motorola Milestone II, the XT720 is now available for purchase unlocked over at NewEgg for the hefty sum of $599.99. The phone has been available around Europe for a bit now and we have been under the impression that it may land on T-Mobile at some point, though we can’t be too sure as chatter has somewhat died down. What we do know is that its 850/900/1800/1900 MHz GSM bands make it compatible with AT&T and Rogers as well if you are on one of those networks and looking for an unlocked Android sporting a pretty decent set of specs.
The Milestone XT720 features a 720MHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, 512MB of RAM, an 8MP camera with 720p video recording, and a 3.7-inch 480×854 TFT touchscreen display. It isn’t quite the Droid X or Droid 2, but if you need your Moto fix on a carrier that isn’t Verizon it could be the ticket.

The Dell Streak’s hot in the presses today, that’s for sure. After we find out that the device itself is back on pre-order, and that the Android-based Mobile Internet Device is indeed coming to the United States, we finally get word –officially– that the new gadget will cost a cool $200 on a new, two-year contract. But, if you’re not a fan of contracts, then you can also get it unlocked and ready to roll for just $549.
If you’ve managed to pre-order the device, then you’ll be able to get your hands on this pricing before anyone else. Why before anyone else? For one, because you preordered and you deserve it. And the more important part, is the fact that Dell’s still not coming forward and telling the world when the gadget will actually get released onto the world. So, you know, we’re still waiting for at least one more bit of crucial information.
Anyone out there able to get their preorder on? Let us know in the comments if you got anything in your confirmation email about a suspected release date, or anything that may be a clue. We’re waiting.

)This is a hard article for me to write! I feel like I am saying goodbye to a good friend, a comrade in arms, a companion that has been with me through thick and thin. I remember the first time I saw the image to the left, and got really excited about the future of smartphones, and the fact that I finally would have an alternative to the iPhone.
The G1, is no more. Meaning, T-Mo has stopped listing and selling the unit officially on their site. Of course, there are still plenty out there you can get your hands on if you really wanted to, but the life cycle of the G1 has officially come to an end.
The G1 was a ground breaking device, the first to really challenge the iPhone's dominance of the market, and the handset that gave birth to sites like our own.
The G1 is gone, a moment of silence needs to be observed as a piece of our history moves on. We will always remember you.

You May Also Enjoy...Kmart just became another place to shop for Android tablets. Yeah, that Kmart. They are currently offering a 7-inch tablet from a company called Augen that features some impressive specs. Dubbed the GENTOUCH78, this unit is said to run Android 2.1 and supposedly promises access to the full Android Market. Although it's a WiFi only tablet, I'm finding it awful difficult to not pick one up for that feature alone. I would be more than content to have one of these around the house until something else from a major player comes along.
